The Ethernet Alliance’s newest subcommittee held its first December 17th, 21010 and voted in Frank Yang of CommScope as the subcommittee marketing chair and Brad Booth of AppliedMicro as the subcommittee technical chair. During their second meeting, on January 7th,the subcommittee had a lively discussion on the scope and goals for the subcommittee.  The initial focus will be on the data center and the organization hopes to assist the newly formed IEEE 802.3 100G backplane and copper cabling study group with their efforts.  Long term goals will be to look to future applications and deployment trends to develop collateral for Ethernet Alliance members and others to utilize for the development of future standards.
